A dedicated group of music therapists who seek to enhance individuals' everyday lives through live music and positive interaction.  Their mission is to further the advancement of training and educating music therapists in and around the state, and to provide a forum for networking.

Certification Board for Music Therapists

The mission of the Certification Board for Music Therapists is to ensure a standard of excellence in the development, implementation, and promotion of an accredited certification program for safe and competent music therapy practice.

Des Moines Pride Center

The Des Moines Pride Center is a community organization that serves, supports, and celebrates gender and sexual minorities and their allies.

One Iowa

One Iowa is a statewide lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer/questioning (LGBTQ) organization preserving and advancing equality for LGBTQ individuals through grassroots efforts, advocacy, and education.

PFLAG

PFLAG is the extended family of the LGBTQ community, made up of LGBTQ individuals, family members and allies.  The PFLAG chapter network provides local confidential peer support, education and advocacy to save lives, strengthen families, & change hearts, minds and laws.

National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance

The National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance (NAAFA)  works to eliminate discrimination based on body size and provide fat people with the tools for self-empowerment through advocacy, public education, and support.

American Foundation for Suicide Prevention

AFSP raises awareness, funds scientific research and provides resources and aid to those affected by suicide.

Alliance of Hope

The Alliance of Hope works to decrease stigma, increase understanding of the suicide loss experience, and provide direct support to survivors.
